Are you ready to unleash your inner superhero? Get your capes on and your engines revved because the Pinewood Derby Race: Ultimate Fandom Showdown is zooming to iMagicon on Sunday, April 27! This is your chance to race alongside the legends—whether you’re channeling the lightning speed of Pikachu, the power of Iron Man, or the heart of Mario, the track is waiting for you!

📅 Race Day Details:
- Check-in & Inspections: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Make sure you craft your car to Design Rule standards. Each car must pass inspection by the Official Inspection Committee before it may compete. The inspectors will disqualify any care not meeting the Design Rules Standards. Disqualified cars may have opportunity to compete in Outlaw Races. After check-in, car repairs are not allowed unless authorized by the race officials. - Racing Rules: Cars will race for speed. Each car will race in a lane of the track. Cars are randomly assigned against other cars of the same class. Fastest three accumulated times determine the winner, one worst time per car is thrown out. Top three from each class goes to the Grand Champion race. Same rules apply to determine Top 3 Grand Champions

Don’t fit the official rules? No problem! The Outlaw Races are your chance to show off your wild side and race cars that may not fit the typical mold. Think of it like the X-Men of Pine Derby—no limits, just thrills! However, must still have a width of 2.75 to fit on the track 💥 - Entry Fee: FREE to compete! All you need is a ticket into iMagicon!
- Sportsmanship: Good sportsmanship and behavior is expected. Race officials reserve the right to ask anyone not following the rules to leave.
DESIGN RULES
- BODY: The main body structure must be made of wood. The car design may be enhanced by the addition of other stable materials such as plastic or metal. Any additions must be firmly attached and meet car size specifications.
- SIZE:
- Car’s overall length cannot be longer than 7 in
- Car’s overall width can’t be wider than 2.75 inches
- Car’s overall height cannot be higher than 4 inches
- WEIGHT
- The car’s total weight can’t be more than 5 oz (+.04) or 143 grams even measured on 1/10th digital scale.
- The car can be hollowed out and filled with solid material like wood or metal to reach the maximum weight
- WHEELS: At least 4 wheels must be attached to the sides of the car body; each with a legal axle. The car must have 1.75 inch clearance between the wheels
- AXLES: Metal axles with a nail head are required. Any axle may not extend more than .75 inch (3/4”) into the car body.
- CLEARANCE: The wheels are the only part of the car allowed to touch the track. When placed in the starting position, no part of the car may protrude beyond the starting pin. The car must have 1.75 inch clearance between the wheels.
- PROHIBITED MATERIALS
- Springs, starting devices or propellantsElectronic or lighting devices that interfere with the race electronicsLiquids, wet paint, sticky substances, or powders of any kindGlass or excessively fragile partsThe car cannot have wheel bearings, bushings, or washersThe car can’t have lubricating oil, but axles can be lubricated with powdered graphite
- OUTLAW RULES
- Must not use accelerants motors or any form of propulsion.
- Recommended weight 5.0oz or less, but cars can weigh more as long as it doesn’t damage track.

- Fastest Fandom: Awarded to the car with the highest speed.
- Most Legendary Design: For the car with the most intricate, detailed, and iconic pop culture design, such as a Batmobile or Iron Man suit.
- Best Hero Car: A category for the car that represents the best hero, like Batmobile, or Moana’s boat.
- Best Villain Car: A category for the car that represents the most dastardly villain, like Joker’s crazy rides or Thanos’ Titan-inspired vehicles.
- Fan Favorite: Voted by the crowd, this award goes to the car with the most fan love, possibly featuring iconic characters like Mario, Pikachu, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, or Captain America.
- Best Use of Color & Theme: For cars that perfectly capture the theme of their superhero or pop culture character with vibrant, spot-on color schemes and symbolism.
- Most Unique Design: For the car that strays far from the norm with an innovative and unique design—think of a car shaped like an X-Wing or Thor’s hammer.
- Best Supercar Transformation: A nod to vehicles like the Batmobile or Speed Racer’s Mach 5—cars that look like they could be superheroes’ personal rides.
- Best Retro Pop Culture Design: For those who want to take it old-school, celebrate classic heroes and villains with 80s and 90s pop culture references like He-Man or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
